May 15 Jordan, back to Egypt, Barcelona and AthensHave finally managed to find an internet cafe that has some broadband speed - Egypt must be on a par with NZ!
Since my last entry I've been to Jordan for a few days and did the three main tourist stops of Wadi Rum, Dead Sea and Petra.
Wadi Rum was worth a look but no swimming holes like Oman so was a bit gutted about that.
Dead sea was hilarious - sort of like swimming on a swiss ball!
Petra was great, managed to get in early and beat the crowds and get a few shots without gringo's every where. Only had a day here so did a lot of walking up and down hills which required some serious rehydration upon returning to Dahab that evening.
One of the hills to climb was up to the Monastry - 45 minute walk, 20 minutes by donkey or less if you're me - Rich you would be proud.
I managed to get half a dozen dives in whilst at Dahab and worked on the tan until I was bronzed. A great place to relax and charge the batteries before hitting Europe.
Through a small miracle I managed to catch up with Leek in Barcelona over the weekend - needless to say neither of us got much sleep but we did manage to eat before going out on the Saturday night. Apparently there was a car race there on the weekend too.
Thankfully I flew to Athens on Sunday afternoon and got established near the old Acropolis.
I was up at the crack of dawn this morning to beat the crowds and get a few shots of the Acropolis which was a good plan as its like ants there later in the morning. Have managed to see a few of the other stone things around here and will check out the museum tomorrow.
Off to Crete on Thursday.
